Exercise Therapy for the Treament of Mental Illnesses

While it comes as no surprise to most people that exercise has positive mood-altering effects, the use of movement therapy in a structured intervention for the treatment of various mental illnesses is still treated with a great deal of ambivalence by many healthcare providers and government policy-makers. This short segment which appeared on ABC2 briefly outlines some of the research conducted by Simon Rosenbaum, Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP), and the positive outcomes that can be experience when a structured program is delivered by an AEP to facilitate the treatment and rehabilitation of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
